USA men’s hockey team is the subject of noise complaint in Athletes Village

The USA men’s hockey team has been subjected to a complaint of noise in the athletes. Olympic On Saturday, village officials said the Beijing Winter Games.

An Olympic official told The Associated Press that no property damage was reported, and no one was evicted, but the incident sparked a conversation between the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and USA Hockey.

“We hold Team USA players to the highest standards of personal conduct,” the USOPC said in a statement. “We’ve spoken to the United States Hockey League, and they have confirmed those expectations and can confirm that the athletes will remain in the village until their scheduled departure.”

The US men’s hockey team did not participate in the 2022 National Football League Hockey League due to the sudden rise in coronavirus cases before the Olympics. The team was made up of 15 college players and some professionals who mostly play in the minor leagues of Europe and North America.

The Americans were unbeaten in the preliminary round and seemed to have some momentum in the knockout stage. But the team was eliminated by Slovakia on penalties, despite being ranked number one.

The noise incident appears to be far from what happened at the 1998 Nagano Games.

After being disqualified from competing for medals, men’s hockey players damaged nearly a dozen chairs and set fire extinguishers, Los Angeles Times mentioned. NHL players were on the team at the time and downplayed the incident. Damage estimates ranged from $1,000 to $3,000.
