The actress and producer, who is married to singer Nick Jonas, recently hit back after O’Donnell shared a story about the pair meeting and erroneously said Chopra was the daughter of author and alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra.

“I’ve never taken myself seriously thinking that everyone would know who I am or my business for that matter,” Chopra Jonas wrote in a note she shared on her Instagram Stories. “But if you want to make a public apology for a very embarrassing private encounter, I think it’s best to spend the time searching for my name on Google before doing so or even trying to reach out directly.”

O’Donnell Posted on TikTok She embarrassed her son and girlfriend and friend Fran Drescher during a picnic at Nobu Restaurant in Malibu where they met Chopra Jonas and her husband.

O’Donnell said she was embarrassed by the exchange and apologized to Nick Jonas and “Chopra’s wife”.

Chopra Jonas wrote in her response, “We all deserve to be respected for our unique personality and not to be referred to as ‘someone’ or ‘wife’, especially in a sincere apology.”

She also reiterated that Chopra is a common Indian family name, something O’Donnell said Chopra Jonas told her when they met.

“Note also – as I said earlier, not all Chopra’s characters are related to the great Deepak, just as not all Smith’s characters are related to the legend Will Smith,” Chopra Jonas wrote.

Her husband reposted her note on his Instagram Stories.
