DAYTONA BEACH – Well, folks…as they say, it’s time to stand up or shut up!
After weeks of reinforcement, today the 64th Daytona 500 is in the green at Daytona International Speedway, with Kyle Larson set to lead the field into Turn 1. Larson’s teammate Hendrik Alex Bowman will start alongside Larson in the front row.
Brad Keselowski and Chris Bucher will start second row after their win at Daytona last Thursday.
Luke Combs sang the pre-race gala, while Trace Adkins is due to perform the national anthem and Charles Woodson will give the order to start the engines.
Today NASCAR The Cup race is limited to, as I expected, 500 miles and 200 laps.

6:45 pm | Austin Cendrick beats Bubba Wallace in the Daytona 500 final

Austin Sendrick beat Bubba Wallace by a nose-dive – quite literally – to win the 64th Daytona 500.
Cindric, 23, is a rookie in the NASCAR Cup Series for Team Penske Racing. Cendric went high to stop Ryan Blaney from coming to checkers. The two made contact and lowered the door to Lass.
Cendrick went low, called Wallace, and the two raced to the bar alongside one another.
Cendric’s No. 2 barely beats Wallace in a 500 victory.
6:35 PM | Brad Keselowski enters Ricky Stenhouse Jr., cautions with 5 players remaining
Brad Keselowski gave Ricky Stenhouse Jr. a big push at Lap 196 and sent Stenhouse into the wall hard, taking caution with 5 remaining.
It was Stenhouse Jr. He is the leader during the second half with 7 points remaining, and was fighting for the lead from the top lane when Keselowski pushed him.
Chris Bucher also shared. Bubba Wallace’s No. 23 also suffered some damage.
Austin Cendrick is your race leader, followed by Ryan Blaney.
6:25 PM | Daytona 500 under the red flag with 10 left
Kevin Harvick turned to cross checkers with 10 to go, and brought several cars with him on the third big wreck of the day.
Kyle Larson participated, as well as Chase Elliott, Todd Gilliland, Noah Gregson and Eric Jones.
Larson, with a big run, reached Harvick’s rear and the chaos began.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr continues to drive as a red flag has been placed on the field.
6:15 pm | Ricky Stenhouse Jr beats the Daytona 500 with 15 points left
Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who won the 2017 Summer Daytona, leads the 500 with 15 laps left. Chris Bucher comes second, followed by police worker Kyle Larson as the field is currently single file.
6 pm | Bubba Wallace, Austin Cendrick leads the Daytona 500 with 30 points left
Bubba Wallace and Austin Sendrick continue to fight for the lead with a 30 lap lead. Kyle Bush pushes Wallace while Ryan Blaney keeps pushing Cendrick.
The lower lane, led by Cendric and Pliani, appears to have the upper hand now as the high streak is beginning to fall back.
5:40 PM | Tyler Riddick, Joey Logano and Martin Truex, Jr. participated in the Wreckage of Stage 3
Another big wreck put the Daytona 500 under the yellow with 49 laps left.
Tyler Reddick’s #8 machine bore the brunt of the damage, while Joey Logano and Martin Truex Jr. and Kurt Busch also for damages.
Riddick became slack on the way down from the front extension and went spinning hard against the wall. Lugano and Bosch sprinted through the grass, while Truex Jr., who won the first two stages, damaged the front of his Toyota.
Brad Keselowski continues to lead.
5:15 pm | Martin Truex Jr passes Lugano late to win the second stage
Martin Truex Jr. had a big run coming to the checkers and overtaking Joey Logano to win his second straight stage at the Daytona 500 on Sunday.
Lugano took second place, followed by Bubba Wallace, Brad Keselowski and Todd Gilliland.
5 pm | Brad Keselowski leads Ford’s role in dominating stage two
Ryan Blaney and a group of Fords drove the first part of Stage 2, but that group hit the pit road with 92 to go.
Brad Keselowski inherited the lead with 20 points in the second stage, followed by teammate Chris Bucher and Blaney.
Meanwhile, Chase Elliott stopped on a pit track but was back on track 22 on the first lap.
4:15 pm | The Wreck of the Daytona 500 brings together Harrison Burton, Kyle Bush, William Byron and Denny Hamlin

Nearing the end of the first stage, Brad Kiselowski gave rookie Harrison Burton a very big push to lead the lead, sending Burton aside to William Byron. Burton went on his hood briefly before turning back down.
Byron went aggressively to the wall, taking Kyle Busch with him. Denny Hamlin, Byron, Bush, and Burton all suffered severe damage. Alex Bowman and Ross Chastain’s cars were also badly damaged.

“I don’t know what we could have done differently,” Burton said. “We’ll go ahead and get better at it.”

Martin Truex Jr. went on to win the first stage under caution.
4 pm | Multiple tire problems afflict Daytona 500 . Stage 1
Kaz Grala lost the right rear tire and then JJ Yeley’s front right wheel seemed to break a few laps later, leading to the second warning of the day.
Kyle Bush continues to lead Denny Hamlin, Christopher Bell and William Byron with 12 points in the first stage.

3:45 pm | Kaz Grala, Floyd Mayweather driver, involved in early 500 wreck
Kaz Grala, who drives #50 for Floyd Mayweather, lost the right rear tire and took off from Turn 2 on lap 40 of the Daytona 500 on Sunday. Chase Briscoe was also involved, as it was the first warning of the day.
Kyle Bush leads, followed by Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin.
3:30 PM | Brad Keselowski was dominant in the early parts of the Daytona 500
Brad Keselowski won the Daytona duel and led all but one of today’s Daytona 500 laps during the first 23 laps.
Austin Cendrick comes in second, followed by Chris Bucher and defending champion Michael McDowell.
3:06 PM | Daytona 500 turns green
Kyle Larson and Alex Bowman drove Field 40 into Turn 1 after 3:06 on Sunday to officially drop the green flag for NASCAR’s 2022 season.
The first stage of this year’s race is set at 65 laps. Numbers 14, 16, 22 and 27 all came back from the field.

Two years after Mother Nature won this battle, it looks like we’re going to conquer it today.
Conditions were near perfect for today’s race, with highs in the low 70s and sunny skies. Winds will be from the northeast at 5-15 mph.
And while we’d never say we’ve never been here, the chance of rain today is such that we’ll overtake the actual race without any debris.
