Kim Kardashian Dishes on Madonna Memories, Skims Shapewear, and Trump Relationship on Kimmel

Date:

Kim Kardashian made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday night (April 22), and while she didn’t address the burning question of whether Taylor Swift’s “thanK you aIMee” is a diss track aimed at her, she covered a wide range of other fascinating topics. From her childhood memories of being Madonna’s dog walker to the inspiration behind her nipple-forward Skims shapewear, and even her current feelings on former president Donald Trump, Kardashian kept the audience captivated with her candid stories and insights.

One of the standout anecdotes of the night involved Kardashian’s early brushes with pop royalty. As a young girl, she lived next door to none other than Madonna herself, and she and her sister Kourtney had the enviable task of walking the Queen of Pop’s dog after school. In exchange for their services, the sisters were gifted with a shoebox full of Madonna’s neon bracelets, which were all the rage at their school.

“She was transitioning out of the 80s neon phase, so one day she just walked downstairs and handed us a shoebox of all these neon bracelets,” Kardashian recalled. “Kourtney and I went to school and everyone was like, ‘Oh my God I love your bracelets!’ And we were like, ‘Thanks, Madonna gave them to us.'”

While the Kardashian sisters missed out on the iconic pointy bra era, Kim had another magical encounter with Madonna years later. As a young woman, she witnessed the singer filming her iconic “Cherish” music video with photographer Herb Ritts, an experience she described as “the most magical moment ever.”

Kardashian’s connection to Madonna didn’t end there. Years after their initial childhood encounters, the two became neighbors again, with Kardashian recounting how they would occasionally run into each other while trick-or-treating with their kids, both donning ski mask costumes to maintain their anonymity.

Moving on from her Madonna memories, Kardashian addressed a rapid-fire segment of what sounded like weird internet rumors about herself, most of which turned out to be true. She confirmed that she dries her jewelry before putting it on to avoid the chill of cold metal on her skin, washes her feet before bed every night, and even has an assistant whose sole job is to remove the cardboard sleeve from her Starbucks orders because the sound of it grates on her.

One of the highlights of the night was Kardashian’s discussion of her Skims shapewear line, particularly the Ultimate Nipple Bra, which features built-in nipples modeled after her own breasts. Kimmel heaped praise on the innovative design, though the conversation took a sobering turn when Kardashian mentioned the positive feedback the product had received from breast cancer survivors.

Kardashian also revealed that she’s working on a line of shapewear for men, which led to a hilarious moment when Kimmel’s sidekick, Guillermo, strutted out wearing a revealing thong bodysuit, leaving little to the imagination.

While much of the conversation was light-hearted, Kimmel did broach the topic of Kardashian’s relationship with former president Donald Trump. Kardashian had visited the White House in 2020 to lobby for the release of three women whose sentences Trump commuted, and she acknowledged that while she doesn’t think Trump likes her very much, she appreciated his efforts on prison reform.

“I think he did amazing stuff with prison reform and let a lot of people out and signed an amazing bill with the First Step act and that’s what I’ll focus on,” Kardashian said diplomatically.

Kimmel’s attempts to get Kardashian to weigh in on the ongoing hush money trial involving Trump and a porn actress were met with a polite “no” from the reality star.

Throughout the interview, Kardashian’s candor and willingness to share personal anecdotes shone through. From her childhood encounters with Madonna to her innovative shapewear designs and her diplomatic approach to discussing Trump, she maintained a mix of humor, vulnerability, and professionalism.

One particularly endearing moment came when Kardashian confirmed that she had celebrated her 14th birthday at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, a revelation that left Kimmel in awe. She also shared that she had released a fitness DVD called “Kim Kardashian Fit In Your Jeans By Friday,” a testament to her entrepreneurial spirit from a young age.

Kardashian’s appearance on Kimmel’s show was a masterclass in navigating a wide range of topics with grace and humor. From her childhood memories to her business ventures and even her political connections, she provided a glimpse into her multifaceted life and personality.

While the burning question of her thoughts on Taylor Swift’s alleged diss track remained unanswered, Kardashian’s candid stories and insights left the audience entertained and intrigued. Whether reminiscing about her days as Madonna’s dog walker or discussing the inspiration behind her shapewear line, she proved once again why she remains one of the most captivating figures in pop culture.

As Kardashian continues to navigate her ever-evolving career and personal life, her ability to connect with audiences through her authenticity and vulnerability will undoubtedly remain a driving force behind her enduring popularity. From the small screen to the shapewear industry, Kim Kardashian’s star power shows no signs of waning, and her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live served as a reminder of her unique ability to captivate and inspire.
