Thirteen years after Drexel vanished from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, during her spring break as a 17-year-old New York girl, a sexual offender has been arrested and charged with murder, kidnapping, and rape. The girl was on vacation from New York.
Disappearance Of Brittanee Drexel

The authorities stayed quiet about the break in the investigation until Monday when they detained and charged Moody, who is 62 years old. According to Sheriff Weaver, Moody has a “significant sex offender past,” although the sheriff would not disclose further details. The rumors included sexual abuse victims’ bodies being fed to alligators.
Warrants for Drexel’s arrest suggested that she had been strangled the night she went missing. According to the authorities, dental records and DNA tests confirmed the discovery of Drexel’s remains last week. The remains were found in a park. This week, Drexel’s mother and father made another trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Myrtle Beach’s current police chief, Amy Prock, was a member of the force when Drexel went missing. She claims that the investigation has stayed with her throughout her entire career. “There is that one investigation that keeps me up at night and consumes every waking moment of my life,” said the cop.
On Monday, Sheriff Weaver had a conversation with the family members. “As the Drexel family continued to struggle with the aftermath of the tragedy 13 years ago, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you,” Weaver said.
When her body was finally found 13 years later, the suspect was eventually apprehended. The Drexel family has been searching for answers to the disappearance of Brittanee for the past 13 years.
