SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket Launch

SpaceX launched a communications satellite on June 8 and landed the rocket at sea.

A Falcon 9 rocket carrying Nilesat 301 launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on June 8 at 5:04 p.m.

Falcon 9's first stage landed 8 minutes and 45 seconds after launch on a SpaceX droneship in the Atlantic Ocean off the Florida coast.

It was Falcon 9's seventh launch and landing, according to SpaceX.

The launcher previously launched two GPS satellites, two batches of SpaceX's Starlink internet spacecraft, and two commercial crewed flights — Inspiration4 in September 2021 and Ax-1 in April.

Nilesat 301 was deployed 33 minutes after launch by the Falcon 9's first stage.

Nilesat 301 will revolve 22,245 miles (35,800 km) above Earth.

Elon Musk's SpaceX has launched 23 orbital missions in 2022, and it's not nearly half finished.
