North Carolina Man Wins $1 Million Lottery

An Arden man almost went to his regular store last week to buy a lottery ticket, but he decided to try a different location. Yamir Bryant is delighted he changed his regimen.

"I danced around the house screaming like a young kid," Bryant recalled. I hallucinated and said, "I'm tripping!"

Bryant acquired his Millionaire Maker ticket on June 9 in Asheville. He scratched the ticket with his wife, saw the win, and celebrated.

"I always say $1 million," Bryant remarked. "Every so often I buy a $30 ticket"

Bryant arrived at lottery headquarters on June 10 chose a lump sum of $600,000 and, after state and federal tax withholdings, brought home $426,069.

Bryant is a professional chef. He intends to pay off his wife's car, relocate, and prepare for the upcoming school year's athletic costs for his sons.

In March 2021, the Millionaire Maker game was released. Bryant is the thirty-first individual to receive one of the $1 million awards.

Scratch-off game ticket sales enable the lottery to generate more than $900 million annually for education.
