Netflix Confirms Season 2 Of 'squid Game'

It's official: Netflix will air a second season of its worldwide smash hit "Squid Game."

Last year, creator and director Hwang Dong-hyuk acknowledged the pressure for a second season and stated that he was "in the planning stages,"

"It took 12 years to bring the first season of Squid Game to life last year," Hwang remarked. However, it took Squid Game 12 days to become the most popular Netflix series ever.

The South Korean drama depicts a gang of people who play deadly schoolyard games for money. It became a global hit and is estimated to be Netflix's most-watched show.

In his Sunday statement, Hwang disclosed certain storyline and character information.

"Gi-hun returns," Hwang remarked. "Frontman returns. Coming soon: Season 2. Man in suit with ddakji may return. Meet Young-boyfriend, hee's Cheol-su."

When will "Squid Game" season 2 premiere? It's perhaps unfinished. Hwang told Vanity Fair last month that the season may air in 2023 or 2024.

Hwang stated during the ceremony, "There has been so much pressure, so much desire, and such much love for a second season."
