Justin Bieber announced Friday that he is taking a break from performing because he is suffering from paralysis on one side of his face.
The singer has Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which prevents him from performing.
"This virus affects my ear nerve and facial nerves, paralysing my face," he claimed. "
Bieber said he's "physically, obviously, not capable" of recent show cancellations.
"This is pretty serious, as you can see. I wish this wasn't the case, but, obviously, my body's telling me I've got to slow down," he said.
He doesn't know how long he'll be off, but three of his planned shows were postponed this week.
Ramsay Hunt syndrome "occurs when a shingles outbreak affects the facial nerve near one of your ears.
"It's going to be ok,," he said. "I have hope, and I trust God."
