Did NASA find Hell? World that constantly burns

In the coming weeks, the James Webb Space Telescope will give humanity its first look of a "super-Earth" 50 light-years away.

55 Cancri e orbits so near to "its sun-like star" that surface conditions can resemble biblical hell.

Because of high surface temperatures, the planet's dayside is thought to be covered with lava oceans.

One theory is that the planet's atmosphere is "dynamic" and moves heat around.

During the day, the surface would heat up, melt, and even evaporate. This would make a very thin atmosphere

In the evening, the vapour cooled and solidified, forming lava drops that flowed back to the surface.

Scientists say that the telescope can tell if there is an atmosphere or not.

The first year will be spent investigating 55 Cancri e and LHS 3844 b to investigate "the evolution of rocky planets like Earth."
