$650M Illinois Facebook Settlement

Facebook will send checks to 1.4 million Illinois residents as part of a $700 million Class Action Lawsuit.

Class Members allege the company violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act by collecting and storing biometric data without users' consent

Facebook users in Illinois sued the company, saying its "Tag Suggestions" tool violated the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.

Users in Illinois for whom Facebook created and stored a face template after June 7, 2011 are eligible for a payout.

To file a valid claim, you must have lived in Illinois for 183 days 

The claim form submission deadline was November 23, 2020.

If you did not file a claim by that date, you are not a Class Action Member and will not get a compensation.

On May 9, 2022, members received payments. Mailing checks and processing electronic payments will take two weeks.
